About the Conference

The October 2026 meeting provided a forum for comparing witchcraft prosecutions across regions that shared dynastic rule but differed in their judicial institutions, religious cultures and local dynamics.

Speakers examined early modern legal procedures, regional trajectories of persecution, social conflicts, gender and demonological discourses, alongside the challenges of editing and interpreting historical records.
